[CHANGELOG]

[THINGS OF THE NOW]

[15/06/26]
IT IS DONE. the old design is dead, long live the new design. as usual, there will be further futzing until everything looks exactly the way I want it to, but from here on out THIS IS THE LOOK.
a moment of silence for the old look. I actually have no idea when I made the site look like that in the first place.

I adapted the code from my old site, because I can't resist that kind of autocannibalization, and I was too lazy to make a new layout. but on this site, I perfected those boxes. honed the tables. the Old Ways served me well!

[12/06/26]
new logo time! new design time! new everything time! i'll be working through the pages to implement the new look, so bear with me in these times of inconsistency. i'm nervous as to how the galleries will react to the new boxes, so i'll put them off 'til last. the code for these box frames is much cleaner than the table boxes, at least, so there's less of a chance of me destroying the layout with an ill-placed "div". the Old Look will be somewhat preserved via the archive page, until I get bored and revert it all into the nu-look. still not jazzed about how the chatbox looks, and the date/title boxes i'm going to redo, but we're getting someplace.

good news! i've got two days off, so I can work on the site again and not leave it half-formed. also good news! I was putting off posting the ko-fi because I lost the pdf to the comic I wanted to post there, "The Good Friendimal Pals". I also lost all the original files, like a goofball. but all is well, now.

still hung up on borders- my experiments have now leaked to this here index page. wowee. I think i've solved the outer-frame issue. for now. i've finagled a mask to function as a top-and-bottom border. meanwhile, on the archive page, i'm trying the FACE THING. of course, when I draw the actual borders and changeover from these mspaint frames, i'll probably have to run through this whole process again, but what's coding if not self-imposed faff? there are simply not enough hours in my days off to conquer all the crap I wanna do to this site.

[07/06/26]
still trying to implement the drawn borders- you can catch my attempts on the archive page. right now i'm trying to get a feel of it with mspaint prototypes. results middling. i'd certainly need different box styles lined up for visual variety, and i'm struggling to get those static top-and-bottom borders i'm so fond of working in this style. it unnerves me to have the boxes cut off at the top and bottom. breaks the illusion of the site being a static "window", if that makes sense. and then there's the issue of the hatemail widget becoming more and more incongruous the more the site changes around it. right now it's just boxes inside boxes inside boxes, which is kinda lame. maybe keep the exterior drawn boxes as a frame with the current [table] boxes inside?

[05/06/26]
now more than ever, we must HEED THE HOG:

i've fallen in love with the drawn borders idea, and will be implementing it everywhere posthaste. manually. this will, naturally, involve a lot of copy-and-pasting. hopefully i'll remember to keep an archive of the current look in case I commit an INCREDIBLE BOTCH, but I probably won't, because i'm a rascal. i'm also toying around with making the VIDEOHOLE a new mix of videos every month, following an esoteric theme of my (or your, if you're feeling bold) choosing. i've also gotta find the original files for my physical comicks and stick them on ko-fi. but i'm also playing old world blues. and the PROM's TOMORROW!

[04/06/26]
THE FUTZING CONTINUES. i've decided to bid adieu to the scrollbar. scrolling is now IMPLIED. however, i'm now intrigued by the idea of drawing the boxes on the page myself, and using this tool to implement it. shoutout to subpar comics for putting it on my radar!

UNQUICK UPDATES: the Great May Heatwave is over. ish. we've gone from 36C (96.8 American Heat Units) to a frosty 23C. the sun is set to receed further into the murky greyness we fondly call "tha sky"- so what now? I plug the scanner back in and resume posting.

but posting isn't everything. so here's a TO DO of other crap I really ought to get up to after this blissful month of sweaty procastination:
>>begrudgingly crack open my "ko-fi" again and sell my extant comics as pdfs
>>finish the several minizines I started in the last two months
>>attempt to heat-proof the attic room in which I dwell
>>show you all the actual, physical "drink reaper" I built (see update below)
>>beat god at his own game
feel free to refer back to this list in the coming months to see if I get it all done or not. I got good feelings about that last bullet.
